Grants, NM, RV Park
From the mountains that tower over the cities to the expansive desert sand that looks like a hundred different colors at once and shimmers beneath the sun’s rays–there’s nothing like taking a trip to explore New Mexico’s magical landscapes and scenic views. Whether you plan to spend as much time as possible outdoors or venture into town to find the best local shops and dining, there are plenty of thrilling activities to help you discover the enchanting atmosphere of Grants, NM.
While you might get some impressive views of the state from an airplane, New Mexico has more to offer to tourists who travel the state highways and interstates. You’ll see more, have the chance to stop at unique souvenir shops, and even take a detour here and there when you come across an exciting sightseeing spot. And what better way to cruise the highways than in an RV? The bigger your travel group, the smaller a traditional vehicle can seem. An RV provides a comfortable way to get from point A to point B without feeling cramped and confined in a car. Plus, RV parks can be considerably cheaper than hotels. You’ll also have more room to bring along supplies from home, which may mean you can worry less about the expense of your vacation and focus more on enjoying your trip. Sounds like a win-win to us!
What Sets Us Apart
The difference between RV parks and RV resorts mainly comes down to the amenities available to guests. While you can usually find everything you need at an RV park, you may not find everything you want. At an RV resort, the extras are what make it stand out from the rest of the RV park crowd.
Our Grants, NM, campground has a laundry list of high-quality amenities–and yes, that does include laundry facilities. Here, you’ll find all the essentials for your vacation as well as some bonus attractions, including:

Discover Exciting Entertainment & Adventure In Grants
Yes, Gallup is an exciting place to visit, but there is plenty of fun to be found in Grants, New Mexico, too. With a good variety of indoor and outdoor entertainment for you and your family, you’ll be able to pack your time in the Land of Enchantment with fun activities to help you effortlessly create many happy memories.
- El Malpais National Monument
Also called the Land of Frozen Fire, El Malpais is a journey unlike any other. Explore the lava fields and see how they’ve shaped the surrounding area. The aftermath of volcanic eruptions isn’t the only thing to inspire awe at this national monument. Cliffs of sandstone tower over the region, casting shadows on the strikingly beautiful patterns and sedentary waves where molten lava once flowed. Stick around until evening to see the bats fly out of caves in the area or, if bats aren’t your thing, take in the incredible blanket of stars that covers the sky above this monument at night.
- New Mexico Mining Museum
If you’re interested in history, you’ll love the New Mexico Mining Museum. Here, you can learn about the daily struggles of the miners who lived and worked in Grants. You’ll also see how mining methods and technology have changed over the years. With the addition of a simulated underground mine, you can experience what it was like to work in the mines every day (and maybe appreciate your 9 to 5 a little more).
- River Walk Park
Are you searching for a place to let the kids get out in the sunshine and work off some energy after your RV road trip? Pack up some of your family’s favorite snacks and drinks and head to River Walk Park. While the kiddos enjoy one of the many entertaining elements of the park, you can sit and relax–or even crack open that book you’ve been meaning to start since your youngest was born. If you’ve packed a picnic lunch, find a nice, shady spot or a picnic table and listen to the sounds of nature (and your kids as they relay stories about all the new friends they’ve made at the playground).
- Surf Shack Pizza
One of the best things about vacationing in your RV is that you don’t always have to eat out. But you have to remember–it’s still your vacation, which means that you deserve a break. Take an evening off from cooking and place an order at Surf Shack Pizza. Here, you’ll find some of the best pizzas in town. If you’re feeling adventurous, try one of the specialty pizzas inspired by New Mexican culture (though the kids may still prefer cheese). With a full menu of appetizers, salads, subs, drinks, and pizzas, there will be something to satisfy the pickiest of eaters in your group.
- Ice Cave And Bandera Volcano
This attraction provides a unique look at the power of a volcano–not only the strength at its core but also the force of the magma and lava floods it can produce. The site of the Bandera volcano now resembles a large cone more than 800 feet deep. You can hike to the edge of this cone and get a stunning vantage point of the crater’s interior.
Next up is the Ice Cave. This strange phenomenon is sort of like an old-fashioned ice box (except underground). Temperatures never get above 31 degrees Fahrenheit; this perpetual cold, paired with other unique features (like how the cave holds cold air and enough yearly precipitation seeps in to add to the existing ice), has created a 20-foot thick layer of ice. And it’s all due to the eruption of a volcano. We definitely recommend checking this one out with the kiddos during your visit to Grants, New Mexico.
